Job Purpose |
|||
To ensure the collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data to inform UCC's strategic decisions, identify market trends, threats, and opportunities, and contribute to the development of appropriate regulatory policies and recommendations. |
|||
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities |
|||
1. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to define market size, share, opportunities, and threats across all communication markets, and develop and implement regulatory surveillance and performance indices. 2. Analyse consumer complaints to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement in service delivery and regulatory focus. 3. Utilise tools such as Power BI and GIS for data visualisation, providing actionable insights through dashboards and reports. 4. Provide policy recommendations based on market analysis and intelligence, contributing to the UCC's policy development process and preparing and presenting regular intelligence reports to the Commission and stakeholders. 5. Engage with industry stakeholders for benchmarking, collaboration, and gathering market intelligence. 6. Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of market data, implementing data governance and protection standards. 7. Coordinate market research projects, both quantitative and qualitative, to assess customer needs and satisfaction. 8. Manage and review the performance of direct reports, assigning tasks effectively, setting development goals, and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives. 9. Maintain flexibility to accommodate any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time. |

Education and Professional Qualifications |
|||
· Master's degree in economics, statistics, business administration, or related field. · Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, business administration, or related field. · Membership in a relevant professional body. |

Working Experience |
|||
Minimum of four (4) years in market research, economic regulation, or a related area, preferably in the communications sector. |

Technical · Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools. · Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and market dynamics in the telecommunications sector.
